The Solodkin/Small Brain Circuits Laboratory focuses on brain structure and function to support motor and language processing in health and after brain injury. We focus these interests on basic research topics such as the role of the brain in speech perception and language comprehension, gesture, and hand motor control; and applied research topics including the rehabilitation of language disorders and hand motor function after stroke and the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease.

Neurobiology of Language Conference
We are delighted to announce that the third Neurobiology of Language Conference (NLC2011) will be held as a two-day satellite event preceding the 41th Annual Meeting of the Society for Neuroscience in Annapolis, Maryland. This Conference seeks to present the current status of research in the neurobiology of language, at the crossroads of neuroscience, linguistics, and experimental psychology. Topics will relate to the neural mechanisms underlying perceptual, cognitive, motor, and linguistic processes used to produce and to understand language in both children and adults.
Abstract submission for NLC2011 will open in May 2011. Detailed guidelines for abstract submission will be available at neurolang.org
